About the Programme

The Certificate in Hotel Operation program has been designed in collaboration with the industry to provide key operational skills and competencies in the hospitality industry. The Certificate in Hotel Operation equips students with the essential learning and fundamental skills needed to step into further studies of the dynamic international hospitality industry of today. The program covers both practical and theoretical aspects by combining both classroom learning and industry placement to prepare those who intend to continue their education or join the work force. Students will be trained in the areas of front office, housekeeping, food and beverages and kitchen. Upon graduation, students may articulate into diploma programs in hotel & culinary arts.

This program is suitable for you if you:
 

  • Prefer a direct pathway to Imperium Diploma in Hotel Management or Diploma in Culinary Arts Programs
  • Are comfortable with a balance academic performance of 60% coursework and 40% examination that consists of practical and theoretical assessments
  • Aim to develop strong foundation in a chosen field of study
  • Are active and like working in teams and enjoy activities
  • Are enjoying of having practical skills or hands-on knowledges combined with theoretical approaches when studying
  • Prefer to work in robust and challenging world of hotels, kitchens, restaurants and hospitality establishments

Entry Requirements
Possesses Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with 1 credit in any subject, or any equivalent qualification
or
A pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 2 in a related field and a pass in SPM
or
Other equivalent qualifications recognized by the Government of Malaysia

Assessment and Examination
Students are evaluated through 60% coursework of practical and theoretical assessments (assignments, presentations, practical assessment, reflective module assessment, quizzes and weekly observation) and 40% examination that also based on either a practical or theoretical examination at the end of each course. The completion certificate awarded will show a combined CGPA and grade.
